  • Year of Completion : 2024
  • User Department : Singareni Thermal Power Plant

Description

The Singareni Thermal Power Plant (STPP) at Jaipur, Mancherial District has entrusted a project to CGG for conducting a comprehensive socio-economic study. In line with the environmental clearance conditions, CGG's study covers a broad range of aspects, including social distribution, infrastructure development, income generation, quality of life, wealth and economic growth, self and wage employment, education and human capital development, job creation, and other socio-economic impacts.

The study involves engaging with key stakeholders such as SCCL departments responsible for implementing the activities, local households, elected representatives, and educated individuals from the villages. These stakeholders are surveyed to gather valuable insights, assess the impacts of the project, and draw relevant conclusions. In addition to evaluating the immediate impacts, the study also collects data on the prospective needs of the villages to help guide future planning for the STPP. The socio-economic study further examines Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, as well as Rehabilitation and Resettlement activities for families displaced by the project, in compliance with the environmental clearance conditions set by the Ministry of Environment, Forests, and Climate Change (MoEF & CC).
